There is no such thing as, "too young to learn", when it comes to guns and shooting. Gun safety and proper handling procedures are imperative to learn at a younger age and the best way to get started is with Gelbees, Airsoft, and Pellet Guns. On this page, we have compiled a list of guns suitable for the youth of today. Our age suggestions are not those of the manufacturer, but based on our experience in a supervised and controlled environment.

TYPES OF GUNS
"Gelbee" Style Gun: (Ages 3+)
  • This type of gun is great for having fun with the whole family, in or outside of the home. And is great for almost any age. If under the age of 18, parental supervision is recommended.
  • The orange tip on these guns designate then "safe for simulated combat". This means that you can shoot each other. Unlike airsoft, which also has an orange tip, these guns don't require any protection, other than eye protection, to play.
  • The ammo comes in large quantities and each round is usually smaller than the size of a rice grain. All you have to do is soak them in water to get them to swell to the size required.
  • When they are shot and done, they dry up over time and break down to dust and can be vacummed right of the floor.

Airsoft Guns: (Ages 8+)
  • Airsoft guns are a great way to practice proper shooting practices. If under the age of 18, must be supervised by a parent.
  • These guns have an orange tip that designates them as "safe for simulated combat". It is highly recommended to do this in a controlled environment with the proper gear.
  • These guns are powered is various ways and shoot at a much higher velocity. Eye protection is a must, but it is recommended to use other protection devices (i.e. armor, pads, etc.)
  • Accurate to a point, these guns can be lightweight or real weight simulated, and allows you to practice proper handling procedures.

Pellet Guns: (Ages 3+)
  • You must be over the age of 18 to purchase one, but there are many different types that are suitable, or designed purposefully, for the youth today. Any use under the age of 18, requires supervision of a parent, legal guardian, or with the expressed permission of one.
  • Pellet guns will give you the most power and most accuracy.
  • Can be used for target and hunting.
  • These guns are NOT safe for simulated combat.
  • They are an exceptional way to train in high accuracy, distance, and proper handling of a gun.
  • They are used by the JROTC as well as having been incorporated into the Olympics.
